DSharp

Derryck Gleaton, better known as DSharp, began playing viola and violin in school at the age of 11. Playing strictly classical music his first few years, he, as a result of his rebellious ways, began to mix his love of other styles of music with his playing. He began to emulate songs off of television and radio, thus, developing his improvisational skill and ability to play practically anything by ear. Little did he know, he was developing skills that are virtually impossible for many musicians. Without abandoning his classical roots and studies, DSharp began to create his own style and flavor. This turned into fusion of Dance, House, Electronica, Soul, Hip Hop, and of course Classical which comes through in his music, as well as appearance. Not fully knowing what to do with his talent in his younger years, DSharp as well as his parents Don and Mae Gleaton tried any and every avenue to get him exposure and on-stage experience knowing that this art needed to be seen on a worldwide level. Now, DSharp has performed in just about any setting imaginable from on stage in front of thousands to art exhibits and, because of his versatility and originality, succeeds in rocking any type crowd. Whether there is 2 people in the audience or 2 million, you can always count on DSharpTheViolinist giving you a high energy show unlike anything you have ever seen before! Today, DSharp draws inspiration from those such as Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, Calvin Harris, Regina Carter, Bond, Stuff Smith, Timbaland, and Jimi Hendrix.
